Free Gems in Clash of Clans and Clash Royale

Supercell says free gem sites target your account. The games' own free gem sources and the way to a Supercell gift card without paying.

In short

  • According to Supercell, sites offering free gems, coins or passes try to get personal data such as your email and password, and can contain keyloggers and viruses.
  • Both games have their own free gem sources, and Supercell lists them one by one on its support pages.
  • More gems without paying: complete tasks paid for by advertisers, convert the GG you collect into a Supercell Store gift card and redeem it with your Supercell ID.

No generator or site gives free gems; Supercell says never to trust websites offering free gems for your login details. The truly free sources are in the games: achievements, the gem box and events in Clash of Clans; Daily Deals and the Trophy Road in Clash Royale. For more without paying, convert task points into a Supercell gift card; in GiftGame those points accumulate as GG.

What Supercell says

Supercell's Clash of Clans support page answers the "free gems" question directly: never trust websites that offer free gems in return for your login details or passwords. Its account safety page adds the detail: people offering free Gems, Coins or Season Passes are most likely trying to trick you into sharing personal data such as your email account and password, and such websites can contain keyloggers and viruses.

The games' own free gem sources

According to Supercell's support pages, you can collect gems without paying in these ways:

Game Free gem source (according to Supercell)
Clash of Clans Completing achievements
Clash of Clans Clearing trees and rocks in your village (some grow back)
Clash of Clans Opening the gem box that appears in your village now and then
Clash of Clans Events that reward gems, and repairing the Gem Mine in the Builder Base
Clash Royale Free gems in the Shop's Daily Deals
Clash Royale Reaching certain trophy counts on the Trophy Road
Clash Royale Reaching the required number of wins in certain challenges and events
Clash Royale The free Pass Royale track, Card Mastery tasks and Collection Level rewards

Supercell also points out that gems spent by mistake are not given back, because that would not be fair to other players. Read the confirmation screen before you spend.

The real way: do tasks, collect GG, convert to a Supercell gift card

In-game sources are slow. For more, someone has to pay for the gems, and in rewards apps that someone is the advertiser. In GiftGame:

  1. Install the app and create an account.
  2. Choose from game and app tasks on the offerwalls, market research surveys in the survey section, mini games, the wheel or the daily reward.
  3. Meet the task's condition; once the partner reports it, the GG is credited to your balance.
  4. Pick the Clash of Clans or Clash Royale reward from the catalog; the GG is deducted and your request goes for approval.
  5. After approval the code arrives as a message in your in-app inbox; in your web account it opens with "Show code".

How tasks work is explained in earning game codes by completing tasks, and every way to earn is in how to earn GG.

Redeem the gift card

The Clash of Clans and Clash Royale reward in GiftGame is a Supercell Store gift card code (detailed guide):

  1. Open the Supercell Store gift card page in a browser and log in with your Supercell ID; according to Supercell, a Supercell ID is required for gift cards.
  2. Enter the code from your inbox and confirm.
  3. Go to your game's store in the Supercell Store and pick a gem pack.
  4. Open the game with the same Supercell ID; according to Supercell, content goes to the game logged in with the Supercell ID you used in the store.

The "Redeem a Store Code" field at the bottom of a store page is for promotional codes; enter the gift card code on the gift card page instead.

Expectation and reality

Expectation Reality
"There is a gem generator" According to Supercell, free gem sites are after your login details.
"Support asked for my login code" Supercell never contacts you out of the blue or asks for your login code.
"Someone will add gems if I give them my account" Sharing accounts breaks Supercell's rules and can lead to a ban.
"Gems right after a task" Tasks take time; partner reports range from minutes to days.

For messages asking for your code or account see the safety guide, and for other questions the FAQ. Codes for other games are covered in how to get free game codes.
