What you find when searching for "free Google Play codes"
Search results show three kinds of pages: "working code list" posts, "code generator" tools and "do tasks, earn codes" apps. The first two do not work. A Google Play code is a product that Google or an authorised retailer issues for money; according to Google it is usually a 16-digit mix of letters and numbers, and no web page can create a valid one out of nothing. The codes on list sites are either made up or already redeemed, and "generator" pages ask you to complete a survey or install an app as "human verification" before revealing a code that never comes. On top of that, since Google says codes only work in the country of purchase, a list copied from another country would not work in your account anyway.
The real way: do tasks, collect GG, convert to a Google Play code
The third kind, apps that reward tasks, gets its money from an advertiser: a game studio pays to win new players, a research company pays for survey answers. You complete the task, the app passes your share on as points, and you exchange the points for a code. In GiftGame:
- Install the app and create an account.
- Choose from app trials and game tasks on the offerwalls, market research surveys in the survey section, plus mini games, the wheel and the daily reward.
- Meet the task's condition; once the partner reports it, the GG is credited to your balance.
- Pick the Google Play reward in the catalog and the region that matches your Google account's country; the GG is deducted and your request goes for approval.
- After approval the code arrives as a message in your in-app inbox; in your web account it opens with "Show code".

The region rule: a US code needs a US account
Google's help page says Google Play gift cards are geo-restricted and can only be redeemed in the country of purchase. That is why the Google Play code in the GiftGame catalog is not a single product but separate products per region, including Turkey, the United States, India and Europe. Before you pick a reward, check the country of your Google account: whichever country your Play Store payment profile is set to, choose that region.

Redeem the code
The flow from Google's help page:
- Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device and tap your profile picture at the top right.
- Go to Payments and subscriptions and then Redeem code.
- Enter the code from your GiftGame inbox, tap Redeem and confirm the Google account the balance should go to.
- On a computer, the same is done on Google Play's redeem page.
If the code gives an error, Google's troubleshooting page points to three causes: the code was already redeemed (the balance should already be in the account), the balance limit was reached (wait and try again) or a promotional code has expired.
